Combined Youth Group Summer Mission Trip: Day 3

Work Group 1: Today, my work group helped build a ramp for an elderly woman. It was difficult to do so in the hot summer sun, but it went along very smoothly. we accomplished a lot during the six or so hours. we put in new stairs, we finished the floor of the ramp, and we put in most of the handrails. -SC

Work Group 2: We worked on taking a gutter out. We took apart an old stair case, and started to rebuild the base of it. We also put a water seal on the roof. Some of us worked inside on the flooring. -KGC

Work Group 3: Today at the work site we got the joists for the new deck mounted to the side of the house and we also went around the whole house and covered it in vapor barrier. JS

Work Group 4: At our work site today my group tore down the wrong person house’s stairs. After repairing and putting back up the person’s stairs we dug dirt to make room for new stairs. We got new bricks to help level out the footing. Multiple people helped cut wood and drill in nails. We took long breaks to replenish our energy and were able to replace rotted stairs with fresh ones. -HS
